Evangelist Billy Graham

And last week, Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., claimed the world has entered the last days.

“When you see up is down and right is wrong, when this is happening, we were told this: that these days would be as the days of Noah,” Bachmann said.

“I see a fuse being lit here, between what Billy Graham, Michele Bachman and Benjamin Netanyahu said, and I think there is going to be an explosion of interest in the end times like nothing we’ve ever seen before,” McGuire said.

“The dramatic and unprecedented planetary climate change is something on the level of the apocalyptic predictions of the Bible,” McGuire said. “We’re on the verge right now, because of climate change, of massive food and water shortages, which could affect tens of millions of people worldwide because of the droughts that have occurred. The intense heat and water shortages have dried up the crops, and we are going to see that play out in the near future because of all the freak weather.”

Blood moons

Against this apocalyptic backdrop, prominent faith leaders such as Graham, Greg Laurie, Cahn and John Hagee say they are witnessing an unparalleled acceleration in last-days signs that suggest the Second Coming is fast approaching.

Hagee, pastor of Cornerstone Church and author of the newly-released book “Four Blood Moons,” told his 22,000-member congregation recently that the appearance of four blood moons on Jewish holy days between April 2014 and October 2015 points to a “world-shaking event” that could signify the beginning of events leading up to the seven-year Great Tribulation.

God is using the heavens to announce things to come, says Pastor John Hagee.

“I believe that the heavens are God’s billboard – that he has been sending signals to planet Earth and we just haven’t been picking them up,” Hagee told his San Antonio, Texas, congregation. “Today, with the help of God’s word and some very astute scientists, I’m going to walk you through 500 years (of four blood moons on Jewish feast days) and show you how God is literally screaming at the world: ‘I am coming soon.’”

The phenomenon, a rare combination of lunar and solar eclipses, has only occurred a few times in the last 500 years – 1492, 1948 and 1967. It will happen again in 2014-15.

The previous dates correspond with the Jews’ expulsion from Spain and Christopher Columbus’ discovery of America (a sanctuary for the Jewish people), the creation of Israel, the Six-Day War and what Hagee and other Bible prophecy scholars believe could be the Middle East “War of Gog and Magog” predicted by the prophet Ezekiel 2,700 years ago. This war, according to Bible prophecy scholars, involves an attack on Israel by a coalition of nations led by Russia and Iran.

“I would not want to live in any other period,” he said.

“The Apocalypse (the unveiling of the end times) speaks powerfully of trouble ahead with storm warnings that carrying a booming jolt of truth. The warning is clear: prepare to meet thy God – followed by the voice of the gentle Shepherd – ‘Come.’”

A new world is coming, Graham wrote. The paradise that humanity lost in the Garden of Eden will be regained. Christ is coming to conquer evil and establish his perfect rule over all creation

“But until then God wants to give everyone an opportunity to know Christ through repentance and faith,” Graham wrote. “Regardless of what society says, we can’t go on much longer in the sea of immorality without judgment coming. We are at a crossroads, and there are profound moral issues at stake. It is time to return to biblical truth.”

Christ Versus Antichrist

Introduction

We live in a troubled world. Science has not turned it into a Paradise.

Neither have secularism nor humanism helped. More often parts of the globe seem like hell. Violence, corruption, impurity, blasphemy, theft, mendacity, and covetousness prevail in every land. They exist in the very forces appointed to control such evils—the state and the church.

Chapter 15

Conclusion

We now offer a summary of what has been set out in these chapters. The objective historic apostolic gospel is to be proclaimed to all the world with Pentecostal power (Matthew 24:14; Mark 13:10; Revelation 10:1-3; 14:5; and 18:1-4). This will be the equivalent, but on a worldwide scale, of Christ’s proclamation by his Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem at the beginning of Passion Week. That event polarized his world and led to a death decree against him, the execution of which was preceded by a terrible time of tribulation. Judas precipitates the last crisis by his apostasy. He is the Antichrist of that time.

So the final gospel warning will polarize the world. The gospel believers will be looked upon as troublemakers leading to world unrest. Ultimately apostate religion (following the example of Judas) and the state will unite as the final Antichrist to sentence the gospel believers to death. As the majority of earth’s inhabitants reject the gospel, the Holy Spirit gradually ceases his pleading with hearts, and his common grace over the unconverted will also ebb away. This removal of the Spirit’s influence unleashes all the pent up evil of rebellious human hearts, and the worst tribulation in all of history will begin.

When the world commits the unpardonable sin by sentencing the saints en masse to death, Christ’s heavenly ministry ceases, and the seven last plagues begin to fall. Armageddon now reaches its climax as satanic hosts make war on the people of God. The appearance of Christ in the eastern heavens brings consternation to the wicked, who will then blame each other for their troubles and turn violently upon one another. The remnant of the lost are slain by the brightness of Christ’s approach, but simultaneously the righteous dead, including the recent martyrs, will rise from their graves to meet their Lord.

All this may sound fantastic to some, but who would have believed a novel written in the early 1930s describing both a terrible European holocaust and a dreadful atomic weapon that would fill the later decades with horror?

The present world seems poised now close to catastrophe, and politicians seem powerless. The existing tendency to riot and protest in the most civilized countries of the world are a shadow of things to come. Already over a billion people are close to starvation. What will happen if and when that number is tripled?

The challenge for believers is to place their confidence in the everlasting gospel and the Lord who is its centre. We are to emulate Daniel concerning whom no fault could be found except concerning the law of his God. The Apostles after Pentecost prefigure the last generation of saints who will fear neither perils nor murderous opponents.

In The Brothers Karamazov, Dostoyevsky wrote his creed:

I believe like a child that suffering will be healed and made up for, that all the humiliating absurdity of human contradictions will vanish like a pitiful mirage, like the despicable fabrication of the impotent and infinitely small Euclidean mind of man, that in the world’s finale, at the moment of eternal harmony, something so precious will come to pass that it will suffice for all hearts, for the comforting of all resentments, for the atonement of all the crimes of humanity, of all the blood that they’ve shed; that it will make it not only possible to forgive but to justify all that has happened.

We cannot but be touched by such words, but even more glorious are those found at the close of Scripture:

Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them.

They will be his people, and God himself will be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. I am making everything new

Conclusion

We as Christians need to start being good Bereans and research to make sure what we are putting out there is in fact true and not some rumor. When we put out rumors, specially in this day and age, we can easily be shown as a fool. If that happens, it damages our witness and credibility to share the gospel.

So when things sound spectacular, then we need to try to find credible resources to authenticate the actual story and see if it is truth or just internet rumors.

I am not a fan at all of the current administration. I think that the healthcare bill is not one about health, it is one about control.

I am doing research into the “death panels” as they are being called, and that is something that is showing to be factually true. No, they are not called death panels, but that is what it comes down to. A group of bean counters will determine if you or others need an operation. If you are over 70 the odds are highly against you receiving any life extending treatment. So the alternative is death.

These same sort of “death panels” were also part of Hitler’s great health care plan that he put in place for pre WWII Germany. But he did not stop there, it he also included the lame, cripple, mentally handicapped, basically anyone who was taking from the system and not giving back to be rejected for life extending treatment. Those who could not help the Third Reich and be an active participant was not worthy to be part of Hitler’s health plan.

This slippery slope is where we are headed also. It is only a matter of time, that is if we do not turn this ship we call a nation around and get back to serving God the way we should be.

The Gospel In Daniel 9:24

By Dr.Desmond Ford

“It would be tragic if we contented ourselves with an analytical examination of this passage of Scripture. It is not merely a scintillating gem to be admired, but the bread of life to be eaten. It consists of ‘the everlasting gospel’ in minature.”

“That which should concern us all the more than the issues of hermeneutics is the issue of life—our life. Not minutiae of prophetic interpretation, but sin, sorrow, and death constitute ourproblems.

Daniel 9:24 assures us that the world is a ship and not an iceberg, that God is intensely interested in our dilemma, and, best of all, that He has done something to extricate us from the apparent cul-de-sac of existence.

In Christ, the Melchizedekan King-Priest, He has brought in everlasting righteousness, freely offered to all who believe.”

Daniel and the Coming King—Daniel 9

By Dr.Desmond Ford

“Sir Isaac Newton, the greatest of scientists prior to the modern period, wrote a commentary upon the prohecies of Daniel and Revelations. He desribed Daniel 9:24-27 as “the foudation-stone of the Christian religion” because centuries in advance it gave the time of appearance of the Messiah and His death, as well as a comprehensive description of His saving work in heaven and earth. The prophecy likewise tells what would be the fate of the Jews consequent upon their rejection of the One whose coming they had long anticpated. The destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70, foretold in Daniel 9:24-27, was history’s testimony that the offerings and services of the sanctuary had met their fulfillment in the advent of the promised Messiah.”

Seal Up the Vision

“The expression ‘to seal up the vision’ (v.24) should be considered. This expression, ‘the vision’, occurs eleven times in Daniel 8:1 to 10:1, and in all these cases it refers to the vision described in the eighth chapter of Daniel. The reader is advised to read again the entire passage. In pictorial, symbolic form the prophet was shown the unfolding of all future centuries till the second advent of Christ. The famous empires, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome, which long oppressed the people of God, are described; but particular emphasis is given to the persecution of the church during the Christian era and also to the supremacy of the couterfeit, apostate religion over most of that period. Christ’s mediatorial ministry in heaven is alluded to, but its eclipse from men’s mind through a counterfeit system is fortold. The sanctuary mentioned refers both to the church temple indwelt by the Holy Spirit on earth, as well as Israel’s typical sanctuary. No doubt Daniel was dazed by this revelation of the apparent triumph of evil. In his lifetime he had witnessed the destruction of Jerusalem’s temple, the center of true religion, and the carrying into captivity of the people of God by an idolatrous and desolating nation. Now in vision he is informed that this state of affairs is to continue on a much greater scale throughout most of the earth’s history.

It seemed that indeed the truth would be ‘forever on the scaffold, and wrong forever on the throne’.

With great eagerness he listened to the query, ‘How long shall be the vision?’(Daniel 8:13).”

“Now in the revelation of 9:24-27 the mourning seer is told that there is a greater Prince of the house of Judah, a greater atonement, a greater sanctuary, and a greater redemption than any ever before experienced by Israel.

The long-awaited Messiah, the Prince, a Priest-King, will take away the sin of the world and end earth’s dark night. Thus 9:24 and 8:14 point to the same reality—the kingdom of God ignaugurated at the first advent and consummated at the second.”

I saw Paul Brown in 1990 in an impromptu interview asked …

what was the secret of his success.

He answered …

telling people the same thing w / o repeating myself —

you always have to take a fresh approach.

With his hands he demonstrated reaching a goal from a pass – end run.
